Awards

GAIE may establish awards and recognition programs to advance its mission and celebrate leadership and impact in AI and energy.

  • Young Scientist / Early-Career Researcher Award (e.g., outstanding contributions within approximately ten (10) years of highest degree);
  • Student Paper or Poster Awards (graduate and undergraduate categories);
  • Industry Innovation Award (e.g., deployment impact, open standards contributions, or measurable energy efficiency gains for AI infrastructure);
  • Public Interest / Sustainability Award (e.g., resilience, decarbonization, or community-benefit outcomes);
  • Service and Leadership Recognition (e.g., working group leadership, standards development, or exceptional volunteer service).

Award criteria, eligibility, nomination procedures, selection committees, and any honoraria or travel support shall be determined by the Board or its designee and published in GAIE policies or program announcements.

Best Poster Award

Eligibility

  • No nomination is needed.  
  • All posters are eligible for the Best Poster Award.
  •  The first author must register for the AI x Energy Summit and present the poster during the Summit.
  •  The poster must align with the summit’s themes in AI x Energy.
  •  The poster should be original and novel.

Award Detail

  • A committee will evaluate all posters and select the top posters for the Best Poster Awards. No nomination is needed.
  • Each Awardee will receive a $200 cash prize.
  • Awardees are invited to attend next year’s Summit for free.
  • The Awards will be given during the Award Ceremony at the Summit.
  • Presenters of the Best Poster Awards will receive certificates of recognition.
  • Awardees will be featured on the conference website & social media.

Outstanding Young Scientist Award

Eligibility

  • Open to researchers within 15 years of receiving their BS degree as of the summit date.
  • Must submit a nomination through the official submission system.
  • Conducted original research aligned with the summit themes.
  • Affiliation with a recognized university or research body.
  • Must register for and attend the Summit in the respective categories.

Award Detail

  • A committee will review all nominations and select the top candidates to give out the Young Scientist Award.
  • The Awards will be given during the Award Ceremony at the Summit.
  • Recipients will receive a certificate for the award.
  • Awardees are invited to attend next year’s Summit for free.
  • Featured on the conference website and Social media.

Top Influencers in AI Energy

Eligibility

  • Open to companies, startups, leaders, and scientists in the field of Power and Energy.
  • Must submit a nomination through the official submission system.
  • Nominee must have demonstrated originality in leadership and/or research in the AI energy-related field.
  • Must register for and attend the Summit in the respective categories.
